It would be great if there is an option for book uploader to specify whether the pdf book is scanned or text PDF.
Those who don't care enough to OCR and vectorise their scans won't use it. The scans are typically part of bulk uploads by people who aren't looking at what they upload.nick wrote: 11 Jun 2026, 02:30 It would be great if there is an option for book uploader to specify whether the pdf book is scanned or text PDF.
It is difficult and expensive to do this automatically in our volume. manually, as you have already been told above, few people mark such information in the description.nick wrote: 11 Jun 2026, 02:30 It would be great if there is an option for book uploader to specify whether the pdf book is scanned or text PDF.
As an aside, I have sorta tested this. Sometimes I can't get a scan to quite look like it was a native text. The original text too faded, too many scuff marks to have vectorising and optimisation smooth out, uneven lighting issues I can't balance et al. In these cases I've often left a note for the moderator letting them know where the difficult sections of the book are, and why they're still there. So the mod can find them and take them into account when modding the book, asking them to delete these notes when done.nick wrote: 11 Jun 2026, 02:30 It would be great if there is an option for book uploader to specify whether the pdf book is scanned or text PDF.
I think you should write this in the thread about the Online reader.图书馆的账号无法使用 wrote: 12 Jun 2026, 07:24 This is the translated content of the APP. Here is a suggestion: Could the ,online reading ,option on the mirror website add a screen projection function? This is not multi-screen display, image mirroring, or the same screen; it is screen projection. Smart screens are different from ordinary screens.
Its another thread on LibTalks. Please go find it from the main screen.图书馆的账号无法使用 wrote: 12 Jun 2026, 12:46 Online reader。Where is it? Is it available in the library? Where can I find it?
